My first healing in Christian Science, that of a tubercular gland, for which I was facing a surgical operation, occurred in 1916. The healing was brought about by my reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The testimony of gratitude for this healing and other early healings in Christian Science, such as spinal meningitis, was published in the Sentinel in January, 1921.

Since that time there have been many other healings and demonstrations of the power of Truth, of our unfailing relationship to God as His spiritual ideas, and of His abiding love for all of His children, for which I am very grateful.

One instance of the protection of infinite Love occurred one night when I was alone in my car and it caught fire. I was many miles from help and had little knowledge of the mechanics of an engine, but declarations of the power of spiritual Truth directed me, the fire went out, and I was able to drive twenty-five miles to the nearest town.
