Following Jesus

It is fashionable in some unexpected quarters to be interested in Christ Jesus. Show business forecasts predict that during the next few months millions of people will see and hear rock opera and other musical productions that feature the dramatic incidents in Jesus' human experience.

At the same time growing thousands of young people, sometimes called Jesus People or Street Christians, are finding a message in the Gospels. The message is vital and meaningful in their daily lives. With evangelistic fervor, they are wearing out their Bibles and praising God for the gift of His Son.

The Master's simple, practical message of charity and compassion fulfills the world's deep yearning for love. It is comforting to hear from him that God requires people to love each other always. It is encouraging to hear about the expected end of war and hate, to contemplate the spiritual beauty of the kingdom of heaven at hand, and to know that the infinite divine Father supplies the needs of His children with loving care. These are promises to delight the weary of this world.
