Over thirty years ago I was healed of tuberculosis through Christian Science. I had known nothing of this religion until a friend mailed me a book she said would heal me. The book was Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I read every waking hour. While I understood little of the truth I read, I accepted the whole of Christian Science because what I did understand was giving me joy and was healing me. I was healed of chronic constipation while reading Science and Health.

About this time I met a Christian Scientist who took me to talk with a Christian Science practitioner. Treatment was not requested, but this dear woman explained man's relation to God very clearly, as well as other points that helped me get a good start in the truth.

I continued reading and applying the truth as it unfolded. I did many things I had been told I could never do. Fear was being overcome. I do not know just when the healing came. I gradually took my place in society and became as physically active as I had ever been. On several occasions when physical examinations were required for employment purposes, I always received a good report, and at the time of the last chest X ray there was no mention of scars.
