A healing through Christian Science is more than a mere restoration of health. It is the gentle touch of the Christ, which never leaves one where it has found him but enlightens his consciousness and lifts it out of suffering and sickness.

I am writing this testimony in deep gratitude for Christ Jesus and for Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.

After a painful experience in early youth I had turned to my church of that time, hungering for comfort and enlightenment. I still was unable to accept the thesis that affliction and illness, sin and death, were willed and ordained by God. This caused a conflict of conscience, anxiety over life, and rebellion against religion, and it was not until some years later that acquaintance with Christian Science freed me from it. The statement on page 140 of the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy, "The Christian Science God is universal, eternal, divine Love, which changeth not and causeth no evil, disease, nor death," brought heavenly light into my consciousness. I had found what I had for years unconsciously longed for, and I began studying the textbook the same day.
