Learn to Pray

Do you doubt that God exists or that He is willing or able to help you? Then learn to pray. Your answered prayers will prove to you the existence, love, and power of God. Answered prayer quickens and enlarges faith and understanding. It proves that God is ever-present, inexhaustible good, boundless Love, possessing infinite wisdom to do His own work well.

Before learning of Christian Science, many individuals either prayed not at all or only under dire, pressing circumstances. At best their prayers implored God to do what they thought He should do. How different one's thought on prayer becomes through the study of Christian Science! One learns that God, good, is infinite divine Principle, or Mind. He knows that Mind's creation, consisting of perfect, divine ideas, is all that is real and eternal.

When awakened to the true nature of God and our relationship to Him, we pray with inspired conviction, "Thy will be done."^{Luke 11:2;} We know then that we can trust our Father-Mother God to send good to His children in the wisest and best way. We understand why His omniscient, immutable will is infinitely better than anything we could wish for; and through His Christ, Truth, we accept what we can perceive at our present state of spiritual unfoldment.
