Sixty-one years ago I was visiting my sister in another city for the last time. I was given about two weeks to live. We had tried all the doctors and a specialist in the area, and the church of which I was a member prayed for me; but I grew worse. I had heart trouble and tuberculosis.
My parents heard of Christian Science. My mother came to take me to see if Christian Science could help me. She and my sister took me to the Christian Science Reading Room. We engaged a practitioner whom we were told of there and who lived a few blocks from my sister's home.
The next morning Mother took me to the practitioner's home. This woman had Mama read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy while she told me God did not want me to be sick. She gave me a treatment. All pain, distress, and weakness ceased. It was raining when we left, so she loaned us some wraps. After the noon meal my mother said, "Someone should take those coats back. They may be needed."
