CREATION'S CROWN

To love man first—oh, cherished prayer—
to treasure most, of all God made,
His blessed child, and keep aware
man has not strayed beyond God's care.

(Alarming how my love would cling
so long with rigid reservation
to bird, to flower—almost anything
except the crown of God's creation!)
