Peter and Snowball
[For children]
Peter had a large white rabbit called Snowball. Peter took special care of him, too, because he loved him very much. Every morning before going to school he went out to feed Snowball and clean up the rabbit hutch. Then after school, if the weather was fine, he and Snowball would have a game on the lawn and Peter would give him the dandelions he had gathered in the fields on his way home.
One morning he went out to feed Snowball and saw that something was wrong. One of Snowball's eyes was all closed up and looked very bad.
"Oh, Mother, what can I do? Snowball looks so unhappy!" Peter called out as he dashed into the house.
