About twenty years ago I was healed through Christian Science of internal growths of some kind. It was nine years before the healing was accomplished. I say this in the hope that it may help someone who might be greatly discouraged by a delayed healing. Many times during this experience I was strengthened because a fellow Christian Scientist had lovingly sent to the periodicals a testimony of the healing of this same disease.
Not long after I had begun the study of Christian Science, I realized that I had an internal growth. I was overwhelmed with fear because this was something I had dreaded from a very early age when I had overheard a conversation between my nurse and another woman on the subject.
The next notion that was added to this childhood fear was the concept of God as a punishing and cruel God. This idea came through my first Bible lessons in school and through learning by heart the account of the plagues which befell the Egyptians.
