RADIO PROGRAM NO. 308 - Religion's Concern with Thought and Body
Questioner: Most people think of health as strictly a physical problem. Where does religion really enter the picture?
Speaker: I don't think that anybody who's seriously interested in helping to solve mankind's health problems can afford to ignore the Bible's rich insights. Over and over again the Bible stresses that health is much more reliable when based on a moral and spiritual foundation. Christ Jesus, the Apostle Paul, and others tried to awaken people to this relationship of thought and body and to encourage them to look beneath mere surface appearances.
There are many examples of this in the Bible. One is where Jesus said (Matt. 6:25), "Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?" And you'll remember that he warned (Matt. 6:23), "If thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness."
