My gratitude grows daily for every avenue of spiritual growth provided by our movement. I am so happy to have a small part in this great Cause.

Immediately following the birth of our youngest son, it was found that he had a disease of the membranes. The doctor who delivered the child said there was nothing that could be done medically and that he doubted the baby would live beyond a few days.

Having faced several severe trials in a short period of time, my husband and I were temporarily overwhelmed. But being students of Christian Science, we knew there was an answer and refused to accept as real the predictions of the doctor. We asked a Christian Science practitioner to give us prayerful support. Together we studied the current Christian Science Quarterly Lesson-Sermon entitled "Matter." Fear and doubt were quickly overcome. We knew the medical predictions were not true law. God, good, is the only lawmaker. The truth of man as the perfect, spiritual idea of God untouched by matter and its claims, was constantly affirmed. We knew the present perfection of the baby's true selfhood.
