It is over fifty years since Christian Science was introduced to me by a woman who was studying it. The first evening that she was in my home she showed me a Sentinel and asked me if I had ever read one. I replied in the negative. I then asked her if she could heal my knee, which was swollen. She said she could not, but God could. Earlier a doctor had said my kneecap was broken and nothing could be done for it.
The woman gave me Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I went to bed and read it until late in the morning. When I got up, my knee was normal; the swelling was all gone. I jumped down five steps and ran to tell the woman my knee was all right. She only said, "I knew it."
That was the beginning of my study of Christian Science. When my last child was born, the same friend gave me treatment. The birth took place without pain. Today this child is grown, has had class instruction in Christian Science, and is a teacher in a branch church Sunday School.
