For years I sought among the most varied teachings, philosophies, and success systems for an unchangeable law in order to be able to shape my life harmoniously thereby and learn what the meaning and purpose of my existence was. However, all these teachings disappointed me more or less, because they were without a positive principle. Finally my earnest search for the truth was richly rewarded in 1949, when dear friends introduced me to Christian Science. I accepted this religion at once because it was to logical and I could apply it immediately.
Within a short time I put on over thirty pounds of weight, after having always been very thin since my early youth.
I had also suffered for many years from severe headaches. Because I believed that this evil was a consequence of the strenuous brain work which my vocation required, my condition became even more desperate.
