Most of the defeats and victories of an individual human life are failures or triumphs on the inside. Happiness is from the inside. We cannot gain happiness by just going all out to have a good time. We have to face the fact that even our material success is frequently determined from within and not from without. Negative, destructive, self-damaging thinking is spoiling the practical daily life of so many people.

When life is right on the inside and inner vision is clear, one comes to see that success is not having but being. Real success and happiness cannot be measured by the size of a man's salary or the kind of house he lives in or the size and power of the car he drives, but by the kind of man he is and the contribution he is making to society. Health is also from inside. . . .
