Let Us Act with True Spontaneity

True spontaneity is the natural expression of the good which we all reflect from God.

How often, in observing a child, one speaks of how natural he is, meaning that he expresses goodness in an unaffected way. A child often gives unselfishly of his belongings, his time, his affection, and his hopes. This joyous enthusiasm or energy is inspired by a childlike thought which is not burdened by a limiting sense of age, time, partiality, resentment, or self-consciousness.

We should not hesitate to put into action the good which is constantly coming to our thinking from God—to give a word of cheer or to be affectionate at the right time and place. Error sometimes tempts us to hold back or stifle the word of encouragement, the helpful, constructive criticism, the thoughtful act, the compassionate deed. In humbly letting God control our lives, we naturally act with spontaneity in accord with the divine flow of spiritual ideas coming to our consciousness from Him. As we respond to divine direction, we prove in a measure that man reflects God completely and wholly.
