Words of Current Interest
The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY designated to be read in Christian Science churches on November 12, 1967.
Thou shalt not see evil any more (Zeph. 3:15)
The word translated "see" is almost identical in form with a verb meaning "fear," which indeed is actually found at this point in a number of the early manuscripts. The two words are differentiated by the inclusion or omission of the smallest letter of the Hebrew alphabet, called yodh or jot and referred to in Matt. 5:18. Hence the Revised Standard Version has, "You shall fear evil no more"; although Smith prefers, "You shall see disaster no more."
I will save her that halteth (Zeph. 3:19)
