RADIO PROGRAM NO. 291 - Helping Children Pray, Part II

Questioner: What reason do you feel a child should be given for praying? Is it to get something? Last week we briefly mentioned freedom from fear.

Speaker: Let's be quite clear that we don't need an excuse for praying. Prayer is a matter of learning to love God and to know Him better. Jesus said (Matt. 6:33), "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

That's certainly how we've approached it in our family—that prayer is getting to understand more of God's presence and power. And this not only blesses the individual; it blesses everyone he's connected with. It can bless all mankind.
