He "tempers the wind to the shorn lamb"
In "Miscellaneous Writings" Mrs. Eddy says: "May the great Shepherd that 'tempers the wind to the shorn lamb,' and binds up the wounds of bleeding hearts, just comfort, encourage, and bless all who mourn. Father, we thank Thee that Thy light and Thy love reach earth, open the prison to them that are bound, console the innocent, and throw wide the gates of heaven."1
Since Mrs. Eddy discovered Christian Science and shared it with all men, morbid aspects of mourning have been disappearing. The leaven of Christian Science in the thought of the student of this religion enables him to overcome grief and injustice for himself and others.
Christian Science reveals that true being is spiritual and perfect and that God is the only Life. The creator, the divine intelligence, or Mind, is Love itself. God's greatest work, man, is, as He made him and knows him, perfect and blessed. If we understand this truth, we shall not be innocent victims of circumstances, of every foul wind that blows, but claimants and recipients of divine blessing, protection, and honor. The great characters of the Bible proved Love's pity. Jesus, our Way-shower, proved it. Mrs. Eddy proved it. We can prove it.
