I was introduced to Christian Science many years ago while visiting relatives. Until that time I had never heard of Science. My husband, who had been suffering from gallstones, was completely healed within one week simply by reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and studying the Lesson-Sermon published in the Christian Science Quarterly. The ailment never returned.

Some years later I was visiting out in the country with two cousins, and we sat on the porch for a while in the morning. Knowing I was a student of Christian Science, they began to ask me questions, mostly about why it meant so much to me. Very shortly I had the opportunity to prove what I had said in the morning. Three of us went in to prepare the noon meal. I said, "Let me fry the chicken."

A large piece of chicken slipped off the fork and fell into the deep, very hot fat in which I was going to fry the chicken. The stove was high and I am short, so the fat splashed all over the top of my body. My cousin handed me a large bottle containing a material remedy and said: "Quick! Put this on. You are horribly burned!" I looked at her and smiled and said, "Darling, God is the only and great physician, and He needs no help."
