Since early childhood I have been an ardent student of the Bible. The beautiful accounts in the Old Testament and the words and works of Jesus and his disciples in the New Testament were always inspiring, so when Christian Science was presented to me, I was ready to receive it. I should like to express my gratitude for all that this religion has done for me for more than thirty years.

When I first became a student of Science, I had an instantaneous healing of influenza while studying two of Mrs. Eddy's statements in Science and Health. The first is (p. 475), "Man is spiritual and perfect; and because he is spiritual and perfect, he must be so understood in Christian Science." The second reads (p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." An attack of influenza had occurred even year since the First World War, and I was bedridden for weeks each time. There were no more attacks after this healing.

I was healed of grief after the loss of a dear one, when it was pointed out to me that God is Life and that Life is everlasting. I also found great comfort in reading the article in "Unity of Good" by Mrs. Eddy entitled "Is There no Death?" In it we read (p. 39), "As the image of God, or Life, man forever reflects and embodies Life, not death."
