Experience Is Subjective

To say that one's experience is subjective is simply to say that one experiences the nature of his own thinking. This fact shows up prominently in the teachings of the Bible; and, of course, it is a basic teaching in the metaphysics of Christian Science. It is important in the approach to any problem to know that we are dealing not with circumstances external to thought but with a state of consciousness. In order to effect a permanent change in one's experience, one must bring about a change in his thinking.

In Christian Science this is brought about through prayer, through an understanding of the truth of being and an earnest desire to live in accord with the laws of God. To have the Mind of Christ is to see and to understand creation as God made it, including man in His image and likeness. In the degree that we perceive this true state of thought, we shall have healings in our daily experience. And when we fully attain this divine consciousness, we shall experience perfect harmony.

Mrs. Eddy states: "Science supports harmony, denies suffering, and destroys it with the divinity of Truth. Whatever seems material, seems thus only to the material senses, and is but the subjective state of mortal and material thought."  Miscellaneous Writings, p. 102;
