About three years ago an incident occurred which caused me much unhappiness and mental anguish. As is always the way, if we are not alert, we try to place the blame on something or someone for the error that seems to be taking place. I insisted this would not have happened if a certain one had acted differently through the years.
Then a growth developed on the back of my hand. It was very ugly looking and caused me no end of discomfort. I tried to keep it covered, but once when a dear one was visiting me. I forgot to put a bandage over it. Seeing it, she asked, "Why don't you have that taken off?"
This aroused me to make a more determined effort to see the unreality of this error. I began the task of clearing my thought of resentment toward the one whom I felt was indirectly responsible for another's misfortune. I prayed long and diligently. It took about six months of soul-searching and the casting out of unkind and unloving thoughts before the healing came.
