Spirituality Is Our Refuge

Anyone in danger wants refuge. Christian Science provides the possibility of full security wherever we are; but this must be worked out prayerfully. Mary Baker Eddy says, "Man's refuge is in spirituality, 'under the shadow of the Almighty.'" Unity of Good, p. 57;

The threat to safety may seem to be the violence of firearms in the hands of a deadly enemy, but actually it goes deeper even than such a situation. The danger is materiality, the belief in a mind that is not God—the false consciousness in which wars, disease, and every other kind of destructive action takes place. Only spirituality can bring this false mind under control and eventually eliminate it.
