Before I learned of Christian Science, I believed that it was prudent to be prepared for the worst, since a certain amount of misfortune was expected to befall everyone. But after I began to study this joyful religion, I realized that one should always expect good, for only good has reality.
Mrs. Eddy writes on pages 398 and 399 of Science and Health, "Evil has no power, no intelligence, for God is good, and therefore good is infinite, is All." I came to see that as one holds to the thought of the allness and goodness of God he will experience harmony in his life.
One particular healing comes to mind. For about a week I had eaten and slept very little because of a fever. I was expecting to entertain a large number of people at a reception the next day. Since I didn't seem to be able to solve the problem alone, I called a practitioner for help. I soon fell asleep and slept soundly all night. The next morning I was well.
