Many proofs of the power and presence of God's law of divine love to meet our human need have been made manifest in my experience. One instance of quick healing came when, through an accident, my foot was injured, and a key pierced the palm of my right hand. The hand was in such a condition that I couldn't use it.

I declared some of the right ideas that came to my thought. One was the first sentence of "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468), "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter." Another was (ibid., p. 393), "Be firm in your understanding that the divine Mind governs, and that in Science man reflects God's government."

I called a practitioner and asked her for treatment. She gave me more good thoughts, and a friend drove me to keep an appointment, a distance of about ten miles. When I got out of the car I found it difficult to stand and noticed that my foot was quite swollen and discolored, but I was able to keep the appointment with very little discomfort.
