When I was in my twenties, I had a little understanding of Christian Science because both my mother and grandmother were active students. I was married and had two young children to care for, when I dislocated a vertebra. At that time I thought Christian Science was all right for some things but not for setting bones, and I went to a bone specialist, who set the vertebra. However, it was only a short time until I was in the same condition again.
When I called to make another appointment with the specialist, I found he had gone on a month's vacation. In a helpless state I waited a month for the specialist's return, during which time a ligament was torn. On his return he helped me. But one day the vertebra was again dislocated.
I was now in my thirties with a family of four children to support, and I was greatly worried. I began to study and pray in Christian Science as I had never done before. I soon joined a branch church and became an active worker.
