THE VERY STONES
Margery Macdonald Cantlon
The need is here. And yet the words
still wait within my trembling heart.
But what is all the clamor from without?
Why, each and every stone is crying out!
Ashamed, my muted tongue is loosed
and boldly forms the words of Truth,
which from my now exultant heart leap out.
And look, the stones are lying quietly about.
