RADIO PROGRAM No. 197 - Building a Sound Marriage

QUESTIONER: Most couples are trying to build a happy marriage, but there are so many problems that come up—lack of communication, selfishness on the part of the two parties. How can we alleviate all this? How can the Bible help us?

SPEAKER: I think the title of the program, "Building a Sound Marriage," holds the clue to the whole situation, because you don't just happen upon a sound marriage or just discover it; you really build it day by day.

And when you ask what the Bible has to offer, I would think of Jesus' story about the man who built his house upon a rock. In this parable the foolish man built his house upon the sand, but the wise man built his house upon the rock. When the winds and the storms came, the foolish man's house collapsed, but the wise man's house went through the storms untouched.
