The Coincidence of Man with God
When the healer, in giving a Christian Science treatment, realizes the unity of God and man, he eliminates the mental picture which would have him believe that man is a corporeal personality, separated from God. So long as we accept this picture, we are apt to believe in two concepts of man: one which, we admit, God controls and which is spiritual, the other which starts with human birth and goes through the cycle of material growth, maturity, and decay.
Christian Science treatment lifts human thought to the recognition that there is only one kind of man, spiritual man, the embodiment of God's spiritual ideas. It enables one to apprehend the precise coincidence of this man with his divine creator.
In Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy writes (pp. 476, 477): "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick."
