I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the healing of a lump under my left arm. When I first noticed this lump, I did not pay much attention to it; but when it became larger and painful, I turned to God, the great Physician, in prayer.

Having been a Christian Scientist for thirty-five years, I decided to do my own prayerful work and not to call a Christian Science practitioner as I had done many times before when in need of physical healing. I did not mention this condition to any of my family or friends, but studied the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, each day and also Mrs. Eddy's other works.

There was fear manifested many times, and I opened the Bible and read (Isa. 41:10), "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." I also studied this quotation from Science and Health (p. 261): "Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts."
