For years I was under medical...
For years I was under medical care and was taking a tonic three or four times daily. But somehow I never expected help from this source. One grandmother taught me to pray and to look to God for everything, while another one took the opposite stand.
As our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, tells us on page 360 of Science and Health: "If you try to have two models, then you practically have none. Like a pendulum in a clock, you will be thrown back and forth, striking the ribs of matter and swinging between the real and the unreal." The final diagnosis of my illness by five doctors was tuberculosis.
A friend gave me Science and Health. I read it once, and it seemed incomplete. The second time I finished reading it, all I remembered was one quotation. The third time, I was searching to know God and to find out what to expect after death.
