The Stillness of God's Presence

Who has not yearned at some time to feel God's presence! It is security in crisis, bliss in serenity. Yet how often have men cried out in Job's words (23:3), "Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!''

Christian Science has given the answer to Job's plaint in the revelation that God is All-in-all, the only creator. The Bible states unequivocally that God created man in His own image and likeness. Man is, therefore, the constant reflection of God. It is not possible for a reflection to be separated from its original. This truth is joyous assurance that man abides in God's omnipresence.

God is as near as life, as close as thought. Why, then, have men failed to find Him? Centuries ago the Psalmist recorded God's counsel (Ps. 46:10), "Be still, and know that I am God." May not knowing God depend upon being spiritually still?
