Personality or Individuality?

What is personality? What is individuality? Is there any difference in their meanings? There are times when these words are used interchangeably, but we must learn to recognize spiritual individuality and its counterfeit, mortal personality.

Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 491): "Man's spiritual individuality is never wrong. It is the likeness of man's Maker." Farther on she says: "Personality is not the individuality of man. A wicked man may have an attractive personality."

The human mind without the enlightenment of spiritual sense sees its own limited concept of man. For instance, if one admits the testimony of material sense, he thinks of his friends as mortals, born of human parents, inheriting or being educated to dispositional traits, prone to love or hate, to work or drift, to think clearly or to dream.
