The gratitude and peace of mind...

The gratitude and peace of mind that come through experiences which prove God's allness and goodness impel this testimony. I was reared in Christian Science and attended the Sunday School during most of my early years until I was twenty. A healing of warts, which had been on my hands for many months, occurred when I was in high school and made a deep impression on my thought.

This experience took place after I had attended Sunday School one morning. I was walking home and thinking about our discussion during the class period. The comprehension of God's allness and nearness and man's reflection of Him as a perfect child seemed to break suddenly upon my consciousness as a light. I had grown into the habit of feeling one particularly large wart as I turned a ring on my finger. At the point of my spiritual enlightenment this habit returned. I saw then so clearly I could not both be a perfect child of God and have unsightly warts. The healing occurred in my consciousness at that moment, and the warts were all gone in less than a week.

Up to this point, when things went wrong, I had relied heavily upon my parents to help me through prayer in Christian Science. This experience was the beginning of my own turning to divine Mind with confidence and assurance in other testing times.
