My family and I have had many, many healings since we became interested in Christian Science thirty years ago. One healing stands out as the most important from a spiritual standpoint. I caught one fleeting glimpse of my real being through a statement in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

About six years ago my husband and I were in flight between Hong Kong and Bangkok. We flew into a very bad snowstorm, and the plane dropped thousands of feet. At times it seemed as though it would not recover. Even though my seat belt was tightly fastened, I was thrown against the side of the seat with such force that my spine was badly injured. When we landed I telephoned to my son in Los Angeles to ask him to have a practitioner give me treatment, because my back was very painful. I received immediate relief, and my husband and I were able to continue on our trip around the world.

However, when I returned home my legs became numb and ached constantly. But in the past I had had many wonderful healings through Christian Science, and I knew that I could rely on it to prove the powerlessness of this accident.
