I want to testify to a healing I have had through Christian Science. The difficulty was a sore throat. I could not speak without feeling pain. I asked a practitioner for help. The subject of the Lesson-Sermon of that week, set out in the Quarterly, was "Everlasting Punishment," and this lesson was a great help to me.

My attention was drawn to the third tenet of Christian Science (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 497): "We acknowledge God's forgiveness of sin in the destruction of sin and the spiritual understanding that casts out evil as unreal. But the belief in sin is punished so long as the belief lasts."

I saw what I had to do was to cast out my belief in the reality of pain and so gain a clearer view of myself as God's perfect child. I had simply to claim that God has already given man health, which is spiritual, not material.
