Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder...

Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes on page 37 of the textbook, Science and Health, "It is possible,—yea, it is the duty and privilege of every child, man, and woman,—to follow in some degree the example of the Master by the demonstration of Truth and Life, of health and holiness.'"

It is indeed a privilege to be a Christian Scientist and a special joy to use Science in rearing a family. The receptive, eager, childlike trust in God which children express is a daily inspiration. I should like to relate a healing which our young daughter experienced as a result of wholeheartedly turning to divine Love.

One evening after going to bed, she began to cough and continued coughing, unable to stop. I called her to me. We quickly turned to "the scientific statement of being,"' given on page 468 of the textbook, which reads in part: "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual."' We declared that she was really the perfect child of God, spiritual, and free from error of any sort. Though she made a great effort to repeat the statement with me, the coughing persisted.
