New Members of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship

Mrs. Josephine H. Carver, C. S. B., of Brookline, Massachusetts, is a native of Chicago, Illinois. She received her early education in Pasadena, California. After completing Junior College at The Principia, in St. Louis, Missouri, she attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, California, finishing with a B. A. degree. Following a period of travel and study in Europe, she spent a year at Columbia University, New York City, graduating with a degree of B. S.

Mrs. Carver attended Christian Science Sunday School as a child and became a member of The Mother Church before leaving Sunday School. Soon after she finished her graduate work she received Primary class instruction, and since that time she has served as a member of the executive board, Second Reader, and in numerous other capacities in branch churches in California, Illinois, and New York.

For many years Mrs. Carver has been engaged in the public practice of Christian Science. She served for three years as Second Reader in The Mother Church, and in 1961 she was a member of the Normal class and became a teacher of Christian Science.
