Since testifying in the Sentinel in 1950 to the efficacy of Christian Science in human experience, I have had main further proofs of the infallibility of Science. Mv wife and I have usually been able by its application to ward off discord, of whatever nature, by our own understanding.

However, about three years ago I was afflicted with eruptions on my body which we called boils, not knowing exactly what they were. We were able to keep them more or less under control, but they kept reappearing. Finally, about two years ago, they assumed frightening proportions, and I was in great distress. I then appealed to a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. As a result of the prayerful work done, the eruptions were once again brought under control, although they reappeared continuously so that my body was never entirely free from pain and discomfort.

At about this time my attention was drawn to a certain article in The Christian Science Journal. The first paragraph attracted my attention immediately, and as I read on I came across a statement to the effect that disliking the actions of someone to the extent of being irritated by him is not conducive to health. The article also pointed out the need for alertness in detecting and destroying the thoughts that give rise to sickness.
