I am grateful for a healing I experienced...
I am grateful for a healing I experienced several years ago. My husband and I were at a mountain resort in our vacation trailer. I had carelessly bent down with a lighted match in my hand, looking into the back of my oven, when there was an explosion so great that the trailers nearby were shaken. Neighbors came running to see what had happened. I hid my face on my husband's shoulder so it could not be seen. When they asked if I was burned, my husband said that I had been, but assured them that I would be all right. They knew we were students of Christian Science and went away.
One neighbor, however, was also a Christian Scientist, and she stayed with me while my husband drove ten miles to the nearest town to telephone to a Christian Science practitioner. I was in a state of shock, and my friend read to me and declared truths aloud to silence the false testimony. I can truthfully say that from the moment the practitioner started to work for me, there was no more pain. I quieted down, and the fiery heat was replaced with a quiet coolness.
