"Understand the reason why"

Why was it natural and effortless for Christ Jesus to heal sin, disease, and even death? Was it not because he was thoroughly convinced that God is All-in-all, the only Mind, eternal Life, Truth, and Love, and that matter, sin, disease, and death are illusive, false concepts?

Christian Science is teaching mankind how to dematerialize human consciousness and spiritualize thought until reason opens the door to revelation and God's gift of dominion over all earthly beliefs is acknowledged and exercised. Then man is seen as Christ Jesus saw him, not as a miserable sinner but as the spiritual image and likeness of God. Transformation inevitably follows.

Mrs. Eddy was meticulous in her adherence to Jesus' teachings; she searched for and found the reason why sin, disease, and death were unreal to Jesus, and these illusions became unreal to her. She proved by many healings that the method of Christian Science healing is identical with the method of Christ Jesus, who said (John 8:31, 32), "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
