According to the world's way...
According to the world's way of counting, I am now over one hundred and two years old. Christian Science found me when I was a young woman of twenty-three. I had been given up by the doctors, who said I had quick consumption. Each day I was wrapped up well and put on the porch.
One day a lady came by and asked me if I knew anything of Christian Science. I said I had heard of it, but knew nothing of its teachings. She brought me literature and talked to me. I accepted all she told me of God wholeheartedly.
I had no definite Christian Science treatment, but simply read a copy of The Christian Science journal. I lived with that Journal for one month. After that time I walked out to the barn; then I went upstairs— a thing I had not done for a long time. I obtained a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Within a year, much to the amazement of my neighbors and my husband, who later took up the study of Christian Science, I was completely well. I drove the horse and cut the lawn and was quite normal again. A short while later I had class instruction.
