The Ministry of Christian Science Nursing
What a privilege to be a Christian Science nurse! What a blessing to give aid to those struggling with pictures of physical discords and to help them regain their dominion and freedom! Serving our movement in this manner brings deep joy, satisfaction, and much growth in the truth.
Mrs. Eddy foresaw the need for nurses. She set forth some of their qualifications on page 395 of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, where she writes, "The nurse should be cheerful, orderly, punctual, patient, full of faith,—receptive to Truth and Love."
Training courses which are offered at the Sanatoriums of the Christian Science Benevolent Association in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and in San Francisco, California, provide excellent instruction and guidance in proper care of the sick to those desiring to serve our Cause in this capacity. The individual taking this training course learns early that Christian Science nursing is not merely a profession but a ministry, an opportunity to serve God and his brother men.
