"Millions of unprejudiced minds"

The lecture committee chairman of a branch church in Michigan writes:

"Looking back at our preparatory work for giving a Christian Science lecture, we recognize that, as Mrs. Eddy tells us on page 570 of Science and Health, 'Millions of unprejudiced minds —simple seekers for Truth, weary wanderers, athirst in the desert— are waiting and watching for rest and drink. We found a number of these 'unprejudiced minds' in our own community, 'waiting and watching.'"

The membership lecture preparatory meeting proved very helpful in connection with inviting non-Scientists to attend the lecture. Door-to-door delivery of a large number of the invitation cards was planned in order to enable the members to talk informally and make friendly comments about the event. As each individual approached the home of a neighbor or stranger, he sought God's guidance in speaking. Children were invited also, and parents with little ones learned of the provision of a nursery in the school building where the lecture was given. People with physical problems were assured that the lecture would benefit them. Those admitting an interest in the Bible were told that they would find a Christian Science lecture of interest too. Some were asked if they had ever attended a lecture before. Others were informed that a lecture is not a church service.
