In the Bible we read (Isa. 29:24),...
In the Bible we read (Isa. 29: 24), "They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine." This promise was fulfilled in my experience.
I often was in revolt against the teachings of the religion in which I had been brought up. I had finally concluded that God was incomprehensible and often not even as good as certain human beings. I was looking for a philosophy which would satisfy me and stop me from murmuring. I ended up by thinking that I could very well live without God and lead my life by myself; thus I "erred in spirit."
The day before my departure for the tropics, someone put a book into my hands, saving, "Here is something which will help you and will be able to meet all your needs." Thus it was that I received "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I found myself in the same state of mind as Sarah when the servants of the Lord announced to her that she would have a son. We read (Gen. 18: 12), "Sarah laughed within herself."
