"The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 1). I can truthfully say I have proved this statement to be true in my own experience; so I am writing this testimony in order that others may be encouraged as I was.

A few years ago I was overcome with what appeared to be a very serious illness of the bowels and stomach. I lost all desire for food and had frequent and sometimes constant periods of great distress and many sleepless nights, which resulted in great fear and weakness.

All through this experience I had Christian Science treatment, for which I was very grateful. At one point I was led to seek a practitioner nearer my home, because it was necessary to make daily telephone calls and frequent visits. When the practitioner I engaged began to give me treatment, her first words of encouragement were, "I will help you, and you will be healed." This brought me much encouragement and new faith.
