"Lo, the star"
The wonderful story of the Virgin-mother recorded in the Bible has been told and retold in song, pageantry, and sermon for many centuries. The Christian world never tires of the prophecy of Isaiah, restated in the Gospel of Matthew (1:23), "Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."
In recording the coming of the Wisemen, Matthew tells us (2: 9), "And, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was."
Those who study and practice the teachings of Christian Science learn that the ascending steps relating to the birth of Christ Jesus evidence an impersonal divine law underlying all creation. This law is above and beyond doctrines and creeds, and, when understood, it reveals creation to be wholly spiritual, untouched by the mortal illusion called matter.
