My love for God and for Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science and the Leader of its Cause, has inspired me to offer this testimony.

When I first learned of Science, I had been suffering from an internal displacement caused by a major operation and had been under the care of a physician for many months. I was required to wear a surgical garment for support and the relief of pain, and I was faced with the possibility of another operation. During this painful experience a Christian Science friend talked to me of God's healing presence and encouraged me to investigate his religion, assuring me that I could be quickly and permanently healed through the study and application of this Science.

One day after experiencing a siege of fear and a feeling of despair, I went to see a practitioner more for the purpose of learning about God than for a physical healing. Since early childhood, I had longed for a better understanding of God and a clearer interpretation of the Bible, I was so inspired during my visit with the practitioner that I promptly bought a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and started to read it in conjunction with the Bible. I discarded the surgical garment and all medication; and within a very short time, with the prayerful help of the practitioner, I was completely healed.
