Signs of the Times
From "A Time for Giving" an editorial in the NZMC Newsletter of the New Zealand Maori Council Wellington, New Zealand
Christmas-time reminds us that the greatest ideas often have small beginnings and that the men who are wise in the things of the spirit can recognise the great importance of seemingly ordinary events. As the three kings of the East brought their gifts to the humble family of the infant Jesus, so we too, at this season, and at all times, can give our obedience to ideas that He taught His followers....
Jesus worked always for the benefit of His fellowmen without thought for Himself. We can remember His humility in the way He followed what was right rather than trying to please those in authority or even His friends. By living up to the same principles we can show that Christmas means more to us than just having a good time.
