The Advantage of Spiritual Healing
Healing in Christian Science is brought about through the spiritualizing and regenerating action of Christ, the spiritual idea of God, in human consciousness.
Those who come to Science for healing see readily that much more is involved than merely getting well; otherwise, a healing in Christian Science would leave one no better off than if he were healed by some other method. Many individuals are finding that the great advantage of being healed spiritually is that a normal condition of the body is restored, and in the healing one advances a step out of materialism into the spirituality which is native to man as the child of God.
By "materialism" is meant the theory that all being, processes, and phenomena are to be explained in terms of physical matter as reality. Christian Science is unalterably opposed to this theory, for this Science is based on the spiritual teachings of the Bible that reveal God, who is Spirit, to be the one and only creator and governor of man and the universe.
